Louis Buhl & Co. is proud to announce a new sculpture edition with Tyrrell Winston, titled Moving Landscape. A New York-based multimedia artist, Winston uses new and found objects to fuel contemporary narratives revolving around sports and their existence within culture. Continuing to intermix his artistic practice with his fascination with sports, Winston coats basketball nets in chrome to create Moving Landscape. Through the sculpture, the artist explores the shape and evolution of a basketball net, both within the sport and within the medium. Moving Landscape captures a moment frozen in time, its form appearing as if a basketball was shot through the net just seconds ago. A compellingly dynamic silhouette, Winston’s Moving Landscape gives permanent life to an object that plays an integral role within the beloved sport.

Exemplified in Moving Landscape, Winston’s work revolves around drawing absurd parallels between contrasting objects and their narratives. The disparity of these elements examines hope and despondence, resurrection and regeneration, vitality and recklessness. Each element used in Winston’s work carries its own identity, context, and inseparable association that creates an automatic dialogue. Unifying concepts of nostalgia, salvation, and rebirth, Winston’s work gives refuge to new life.
