Louis Buhl & Co. is proud to announce Float Monoprints, a new edition with Houston-based artist Paul Kremer. Each monoprint features a unique combination of shape, ground, and water.

Paul Kremer is increasingly known for his distinctly organic minimalist abstractions. Kremer uses traditional methods, working with fluid acrylics on raw canvas to achieve heavily formal compositions that are softened by the texture of their permeable support. Continuously evolving, the artist retains links in palette, formal cues and essentialist virtues. What stands out is the manner in which these flat fields of color embody a liveliness rarely seen in such precise works, as they are rooted in the immediacy and primacy of the everyday. Titles give cues to the work’s inspiration and insight into their real-life allusion; what results is an enjoyable connection to the abstraction’s referential qualities.

"For his monoprint series, we embraced Paul's studio process by allowing for fluid creation/manipulation of various compositions. We worked one-on-one with Paul in the studio to produce these unique prints featuring three components: shape, ground, and water. For each component, there were four different options, allowing for a rich diversity in compositions thru a continuation of his minimalist iconography. Working in this manner insured Paul's hand and direction were present throughout." -  POP!NK Editions
