In the new year, Louis Buhl & Co. looks forward to opening an exhibition of new large-scale tapestry works by Paul Kremer. In collaboration with Magnolia Editions, Kremer has translated digital compositions from his Peel series into intricate weave structures produced on customized Jacquard looms. Color is built optically through combinations of warp and weft threads that shift with viewing distance—from dense fields of interlaced fibers up close to smooth gradients and crisp forms from afar—drawing on precise palettes, complex weave files, and deep fluency with thread, machinery, and design. Complementing the textile works, the exhibition extends into Louis Buhl’s Salon space, where a series of works on paper and small-scale embroidered pieces will be on view.
