4 Questions with Louis Buhl & Co. collector Ari Kobren
Tell us about the first work of art you ever acquired from Louis Buhl & Co.
The first work I purchased was Kathryn Macnaughton’s Just Like Heaven, which currently hangs in my office. I ordered the hand-embellished version, as its uniqueness gave the print broader dimension. I love how it combines nature with silhouettes. I get the pleasure of that and Johnny Abrahams Untitled (Red) flanking the other side of the window. Having these pieces with my window viewing the courtyard isn’t a bad place to work.

Which Louis Buhl & Co. artists would you most like to meet in person?
I would love to meet and assist (ha) Jason REVOK. Wouldn’t it be fun to use his tools to spray some canvas? I also love Josh Sperling’s work. I would love to learn his construction techniques on his large-scale installations.
Jason REVOK — Spirograph_32_a Monoprint
Rosson Crow — Detail of an upcoming edition
What Louis Buhl & Co project would be the dream addition to your collection?
I have been dreaming of a Rosson Crow piece, and I just saw that one is coming shortly. I cannot wait! I would also love a Jonas Wood print. Let’s make that happen!
Beverly Fishman — Untitled (Pain, Asthma, Depression, ADHD)
Paul Kremer — GLACIER 29 - XL/V/PB
