Louis Buhl is pleased to present a new embroidered edition with Detroit-based interdisciplinary artist Akea Brionne. Drawing from imagery developed for her recent exhibition at Cranbrook Art Museum, A Dreaming Hour, the edition comprises 10 hand-embellished works, each measuring 24 × 18 inches and presented in a natural frame, ready to hang.
Known for her large-scale tapestries embellished with glitter, rhinestones, oil pastels, and other intricate surface details, Brionne approaches the edition as an opportunity to translate the tactile and dimensional qualities of her textile-based practice into an edition format. Each work is hand-embellished by the artist, creating a unique tactile surface that extends the depth, texture, and visual richness of the original compositions.
